I know I'm off to a bit of a rough start on this.  I'm still trying to work out exactly how to go about it.  I suppose since I already told you a little about me and what got me started on making chainmaille jewelry, I'll try to describe a little bit about how I'm going about running it as a business.

For right now I just have Facebook, Instagram, and word of mouth to get my name and creations out there.  I am hoping that this blog will help as well and will be somewhere for those who may not have social media accounts to get to know me and see my work so they know what they're getting when they make a purchase.  My goal is to hopefully get more people interested in what I'm making and get a bigger base for sales.  I also hope to get some people interested in chainmaille in general because it's pretty amazing stuff.

Not only did they wear it as armor all over the world as an effective defense against slashing blows by edged weapons and penetration by thrusting and piercing weapons (it wasn't so great against blunt weapons), but mail continues to be used in the 21st century as a component of stab-resistant body armor, cut-resistant gloves for butchers and woodworkers, shark-resistant wetsuits for defense against shark bites, and a number of other applications!

Anyway, back to the topic.  You're probably wondering how this will work with just one person running everything, so here's a little bit of a breakdown for you on my current (potentially to change) sales process.  As I make things I am taking pictures of (generally) the finished piece to post to Instagram and Facebook for all to see! If someone sees a piece that they like, they send a message and let me know! When I get the message, I would find out more details from them like what size they would like (ie: how big around is your wrist/neck/ankle), what colors they would like, and any other details that would be needed depending on the piece chosen.  From there, I can let you know the price and potential time frame.  If you are agreeable to the price and time frame, I'll order the rings and make the piece as soon as they arrive!  I also consider unique custom orders, so if you have an idea for something not pictured, send a message anyway! I'll do my best to create what you're looking for.

I'll use the blog primarily for describing the pieces in deeper details than Facebook or Instagram allow and will post some of the behind-the-scenes action here too.  You'll be able to see as pieces are made and watch as the finished creations come to fruition.

Here are a few collages of some of the things I have made so far.  I'll post more details about each of them soon!
